Bridge of Segovia
Calle Segovia
It is the oldest bridge in Madrid and was designed in 1582 by Juan de Herrera.
Bridge of Toledo
This is actually nor the first bridge that was built over the Manzanares river. The one standing today dates back to 1719 when Felipe the 5th ordered it to be built in order to unite the recent capital with the city of Toledo. This construction consists of nine arches separated by drums in the form of towers of a fortress. It’s in the Baroque style and has the statues of the patron saints of the city. It was declared a National Monument in 1956.
Viaduct
The many arches and its art deco style characterize this 1940 construction that solved the problem of uneven ground between Royal palace and Las Vistillas. There was another viaduct before this one, which was built in 1874. It was demolished because of its poor state.
