Madrid has an extensive network of modern suburban trains that connects the capital with the rest of the towns within the metropolitan area and with the main towns of the region. It has 31 stations out of which fourteen of them are connected with the underground network. The Suburban train begins running between 5-6 am through 12-1 am
The Spanish Railway network is centered in Madrid. Renfe is the company that is in charge of this service and of the suburban trains, offering travellers around 1700 modern long distance, high speed and regional trains. The high-speed AVE and Talgo 200 offer wick and comfortable travel and they connect the capital with several cities of southern Spain (Seville, Malaga, Cordoba, Cadiz and Huelva) this high-speed service will be extended to the rest of the Spanish cities, Madrid-Barcelona will be the next line opened.
TALGO is the latest generation of trains and stands out for its speed and quality service. These trains run daily between the cities of Madrid, Pamplona, zaragoza, Valencia, alicante and Barcelona. There are also overnight trains with sleeper cars that travels between Madrid and Aranjuez. The latter is a suburban train that connects. Madrid with Alcalá de Henares. This trip includes a guided visit to the monuments and historical buildings of Alcalá de Henares.
There are also regional trains that connect Madrid with nearby state capitals like Sigüenza, Avila, Salamanca, Toledo, Valladolid and Segovia.
